Verizon: Cheers and Jeers!

From an infoSync World posting...

"US carrier Verizon Wireless is now offering users an online backup option for their mobile phones. The service stores all of a phone's contact information online on Verizon's servers, and then in case a phone is lost or damaged users can simply download their entire contact list directly to a new phone. Seven models are supported by the new over-the-air service. The cost will be $1.99 USD per month."

This sounds like a great idea, but it should just be a feature that the carrier provides, not tack on an extra $1.99/mo. Why stop at contact information? Go ahead and do all personal information like calendar, etc. Just don't charge for it, or at least charge less than $2/mo! Boo!!
